About Us

Our Staff & Volunteers

Our staff and volunteers form the backbone of our organization, embodying the spirit of community and service that drives our mission forward. They come from diverse backgrounds and professions, each bringing unique skills, experiences, and perspectives to the table. Among our dedicated staff and volunteers are:

  1. Local Bank Employees: These individuals play a vital role in supporting our organization through financial expertise, fundraising efforts, and community outreach. Their knowledge of banking and finance helps ensure the effective management of resources and the sustainability of our programs.
  2. Contractors: Skilled contractors generously donate their time and expertise to assist with construction projects, renovations, and repairs at our facilities. Whether it's upgrading existing infrastructure, rehabilitating properties, or enhancing accessibility, their craftsmanship and dedication contribute to creating safe and welcoming spaces for those we serve.
  3. Veterans: Many veterans volunteer their time to give back to their fellow servicemembers and the broader military community. Drawing upon their own experiences, they provide invaluable mentorship, peer support, and advocacy to help fellow veterans navigate the challenges of reintegration, mental health, and access to resources.
  4. Electricians and Plumbers: These professionals lend their technical skills and expertise to ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our renovated properties. From installing electrical systems and plumbing fixtures to troubleshooting issues and performing routine maintenance, their contributions are essential to maintaining the quality of our housing and community spaces.
  5. Other Company Employees: Employees from various companies and industries volunteer with us as part of corporate social responsibility initiatives, team-building activities, or personal commitments to giving back. Whether they're organizing fundraising events, participating in community service projects, or providing pro bono services, their collective efforts make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Together, our staff and volunteers form a diverse and dedicated network of individuals united by a shared commitment to making a positive impact in our community for veterans. Their generosity, compassion, and expertise empower us to fulfill our mission of supporting veterans, promoting housing stability, and fostering veteran community resilience. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing contributions and unwavering support.

Our history

Established in 2013, We Agape You embarked on a mission fueled by compassion, determination, and a steadfast commitment to serving those in need. Rooted in the principles of Agape love – a selfless, unconditional love that reflects the compassion of Christ – the organization set out to address the multifaceted challenges facing homeless individuals and veterans in the City of Reading and beyond.

From the outset, We Agape You recognized the urgent need to address the alarming rate of veteran suicides, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 individuals per day. Vigilantly, the organization dedicated its efforts to providing vital mental health support, counseling services, and crisis intervention programs aimed at preventing suicides and supporting veterans in crisis.

Driven by a vision of creating lasting change, We Agape You adopted a holistic approach to its work, eschewing quick fixes in favor of comprehensive solutions that promote self-sufficiency and empowerment. Rather than simply putting a band-aid on the problems, the organization sought to address the root causes of homelessness, unemployment, and other challenges, equipping individuals with the tools and resources they need to build a brighter future.

Over the years, We Agape You's impact has been profound and far-reaching. Through its tireless efforts, the organization has provided housing, employment assistance, medical support, and other essential services to thousands of individuals, helping them overcome adversity and reclaim their dignity and independence. Today, the organization focuses solely on benefitting the lives of veterans.

As We Agape You celebrates its journey of service and compassion, its mission remains as vital as ever. By spreading Agape love and embodying Christ-like compassion in all that it does, the organization continues to be a beacon of hope and healing for those in need, inspiring transformation and renewal in communities across the nation.
